Malaysia is an outward-looking upper-middle income country located in South East Asia. Having recovered rapidly from the Global Financial Crisis in 2009, Malaysia soon embarked on a comprehensive review of its whole education system, aiming to develop a new National Education Blueprint.

With an estimated 42% of global enrolments expected to be from the East Asia and Pacific region by 2035, Malaysia – both its education system and its market of international students – will become increasingly important in the context of regional and global education markets.

With much work still to be done to develop the domestic educational infrastructure – Malaysia did not have one public university in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings in 2013 – and the economy performing well, demand for overseas study is still high.

BMI will be holding recruitment fairs in Kuala Lumpur in November 2015 as part of its Global Education Fairs – Asia.
